Our cats and kittens are ALL raised in our home, as pets.

The Beginning, and beyond...

In the heart of the Mid-West, Kings Ransom was begun as a Bengal cattery in 1997. Investing in the BEST breeder-quality cats available, we are proud members of TICA.  We were the only TICA registered Bengal cattery in Northwest Ohio.

Our cattery specialized in Seal Lynx and Seal Mink spotted and marbled snows. Ripley, an International Color Winner, Eden, a Regional Winner and International Color Winner as well as a Supreme Grand Champion, and Marlowe, a Quadruple Grand Champion were proof of our dedication to the breed.

However, we decided to not continue working with the breed for several reasons, but the biggest was the sheer number of Bengal breeders in the United States.
We are now Sphynx breeders, once again investing in the best quality cats available, loving them in our home like children, and breeding for one reason only - to improve the breed, and to preserve their individual unique beauty.

Our General Philosophy on raising well-adjusted kittens

All of our babies are raised hands-on from the moment they are born and are handled by many different people.  This ensures a friendly kitten for you! We encourage visitors to come and see our cats in our home, and to play with them before making any decisions about adoption. Our kittens are never sold in pet stores, and all of our cats live inside our house, including our boys!

We pride ourselves on individualized attention to our cats, because when that is jeopardized the whole foundation of any honorable breeding program is shaky at best. We choose to go forward with only cats who either do well at cat shows, or who have a specific trait the will improve the breed. We take their good performance in the show ring as a sign that our cattery is on the right track: not only producing, but enhancing, the Sphynx breed. That is what responsible breeding is all about, after all. Additionally, we always select cats who are from diverse lines, taking into account the risks of inbreeding.
